Monica Gilbert is an Author, Speaker and Business Strategist who is living out her dream of being an entrepreneur, coaching individuals through their grief journey, advising executives of Fortune 500 companies and non-profits. Over the last seven years, following her son’s murder, Monica has be passionate about inspiring women and men to understand grief and develop an action plan to step through personal growth and find their own new normal. In her books, A Shattered Heart, released in 2014, and Fearless Living (Spotlight Author – 2015) she exhibits her transformational messages of hope, trust and renewal.
Monica holds degrees in Computer Information Technology and Project Management. She has worked with many prestigious universities and organizations such as Harvard, Penn State and Carnegie Mellon University in developing various community programs to advocate educational awareness and bridge the gap of the digital divide. Through her message of hope, she also reached over 400 students and adults in the public schools, correctional facilities and juvenile system.
Before Monica began hosting her own radio show, It’s Relevant Truth, Monica was no stranger to the media. She was interviewed for international, national and local radio and television programs such as CBN Turning Point International, The Good News with Angie Austin, Inez Kelly on NewsTalk 1450 in Washington, D.C. and the Lynne Hayes-Freeland Show on KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh, PA discussing the grief journey and how to find your new normal.
Monica is a real, relevant and dynamic leader spreading a global message of being able to Begin Again, Live, Grow and Move beyond your loss. She has spoken to both large and intimate audiences of all ages and demographics; most notably offering the keynote addresses at the Harvard University Extension School, Carnegie Mellon University- Progress Program and empowered over 100 women and men through conferences and workshops. In addition, Monica enjoys collaborating with others through grief panel discussions and leadership team-building.
Monica is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and currently resides with her husband in Denver, CO. Her most notable personal accomplishments are being a wife to Arthur Gilbert, the proud parent of two sons, Davon and Donté, and daughter-in-love, Mariah, and grandmother of three grandsons, Landon, Mehki, and Jaiden.
